The AI Adoption Initiative (AIAI) hosted policymakers, business leaders, and academics in Tokyo for the Unlocking Ambitions: AI Policy Summit to discuss how artificial intelligence can be adopted responsibly and at scale.

Japan is home to some of the world’s most advanced technology companies, a highly skilled workforce, and deep government investment in digital transformation. Yet, like many economies, the challenge is not innovation – it’s adoption. AIAI’s conversations in Tokyo highlighted the need for targeted policies to ensure that AI tools reach small and medium-sized enterprises while demonstrating the opportunity to transform productivity and the delivery of public services with AI.
