Putting AI to work: Solving the productivity challenge through faster adoption

During the 2026 India AI Impact Summit, the AI Adoption Initiative convened government, industry, and civil society leaders for a panel discussion on Putting AI to work: Solving the productivity challenge through faster adoption followed by an exclusive networking reception sponsored by Amazon.

The panel was comprised of experts representing the sectors that play a key role in AI adoption, including:

  • The Honourable Kanishka Narayan MP, Minister for AI and Online Safety, UK Government
  • David Zapolsky, Chief Global Affairs & Legal Officer, Amazon
  • Shubhii Agarawal, Co-Founder, Locobuzz
  • Moderated by Kevin Allison, President, Minerva Technology Futures

Panelists spoke to the critical role of government in regulating AI responsibly but emphasized the risks to productivity gains with restrictive frameworks. Adoption will require investments in digital infrastructure, cloud access, and regulatory clarity. It will also require workforce upskilling so that people can effectively use, manage, and oversee AI systems in their work. Panelists also spoke to the need for inclusive growth, ensuring adoption is undertaken widely across regions.

The countries that will succeed in the AI revolution will be those that treat adoption as a national priority and invest in the infrastructure and upskilling needed to diffuse at scale. The impact of AI will be only realized through widespread, real-world integration.

Following the panel, the AI Adoption Initiative continued the conversation at an exclusive networking reception where Marc Etienne Ouimette, Founder of Cardinal Policy, led a focused discussion on the lessons learned over the India AI Impact Summit. The discussion brought together leaders from across the global AI adoption policy community to explore how countries are putting this new general-purpose technology to work. Attendees had an opportunity to network and hear from some of the leading experts in AI.
